Aldinger & Associates offers Geotechnical Engineering and Geohydrology services, with the ability to coordinate Construction Materials Testing
Geotechnical Engineering
Aldinger & Associates provides geotechnical engineering services for a variety of projects and to a variety of Clients. We understand ground conditions and the challenges of designing, constructing and commissioning facilities in New England. Our services are completed for a wide range of projects including highways, bridges, buildings, retaining walls, utility lines and related structures. Our Clients appreciate our responsiveness, sensible solutions, and Team atmosphere.
Our geotechnical engineering services will typically consist of first establishing a field investigation program. As a division of S.W. Cole Engineering, Inc. (S.W.COLE), Aldinger & Associates has access to the services of S.W.COLE Explorations, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of S.W.COLE. In addition, most laboratory testing services will be provided by the firms network of laboratories.
Following the completion of the field and lab work we will then complete the required geotechnical analyses and develop a Geotechnical Report with foundation and earthwork recommendations. These recommendations will provide the structural and civil engineer with the information required to design a foundation for a bridge, building, retaining wall, roadway and utility line and related structures.
Geohydrology
Aldinger & Associates provides geohydrological engineering services for a variety of clients. These services are completed for a wide range of projects from wells and wellfields to golf courses to new housing developments and dewatering plans for below grade construction.
Our work in this area has included investigations to determine the safe yield of an aquifer, the potential impacts of a well development on adjacent properties and wells, construction dewatering designs and reviews of others, and potential impacts of a proposed development on nitrate levels in groundwater.
Our investigations have included research of available information on the groundwater in the site area, field investigations including the installation of wells and observation wells and piezometers. These have also included the installation of pressure transducers and data acquisition equipment in conjunction with field pumping tests for aquifer safe yield and for determination of dewatering flows required for construction dewatering. Aldinger & Associates often conducts modeling of groundwater flow to determine effects on nearby water bodies and nitrate loading of existing aquifers. Typically we will develop a geohydrological report of our findings, often in support of a permit application for development.
Construction Materials Testing Services
Aldinger & Associates is proud to offer cost effective laboratory and field testing services through the Geisser division of S.W.COLE to measure the conformance of the materials and construction of your project to the project specifications. We provide independent construction materials testing, both in the field and at our eight regional laboratory facilities. Most of the tests are completed in-house, saving our Clients time and money.
With the speed of today’s projects, we make every effort to keep the project running smoothly and efficiently with our electronic report transmittals and our completely unique laboratory database management system. S.W.COLE annually performs nearly 40,000 field and laboratory test procedures, including approximately 3,300 laboratory soil sieve analyses and 1,400 laboratory soil moisture density tests, and cast and test 28,000 concrete compressive strength specimens.
