History:
Paul B. Aldinger, Ph.D., P.E., founded Paul B. Aldinger & Associates (PBAA) in 1990. S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. (www.swcole.com) acquired PBAA in 2023 and established the Aldinger & Associates brand as a division of S.W.COLE. Throughout its over 30 year history, Aldinger & Associates has grown to a team of geotechnical engineers, and expanded its service offerings. Aldinger & Associates specializes in geotechnical engineering and geohydrology. Aldinger & Associates looks forward to its continued success as a division of S.W.COLE, and is proud to now offer construction materials testing, special inspections, and test boring exploration services through this relationship.
Paul B. Aldinger, P.E., Ph.D., Principal Geotechnical Engineer
Paul B. Aldinger, Ph.D., P.E. began his 45 year career working during college for a geotechnical and structural engineering firm in Vermont, as well as state DOT agencies in Vermont and California. Following graduation and a tour in the Civil Engineering Corps of the U.S. Navy, he returned to school to obtain an MSCE degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Vermont. He then joined Maguire Group, Inc., an A.E.P. firm, in Providence, Rhode Island and Foxboro, Massachusetts working in the Geotechnical Engineering Department. He worked his way up to become the Department Manager while also obtaining a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Rhode Island in 1983.
Since 1990 he has developed the firm into a team of professionals. He now focuses on technical work and mentoring emerging professionals. Dr. Aldinger concentrates his practice in the geotechnical and geohydrological engineering area and has worked on projects for both public and private Clients which range in size, duration and scope.
